There are many ways to help ensure your child is successful at school, including:
· Encourage your child to participate in all school activities and extra curricular activities provided, including sport and excursions.
· Read all school information including "The Link" which is sent home each Wednesday, and be aware of what is happening within the school. Keep newsletters on hand to refer back to.
· Take an active role in your child's academic progress - keep in touch with your child's teacher and be aware of what your child is learning at school.
· Make homework a part of the household. It reinforces what they have learned at school - always ask your child if they have homework, chances are they do.
· Attend P & C meetings throughout the year.
· Support your child's class activities and homework.
· Take your child shopping and have them calculate the cost of items or even the total of the bill.
· Talk to the child's peer group and their parents.
· Buy your child a watch and help them learn to tell the time.
These are just some of the many ways you can help your child to take an interest in their schooling and be successful at school. Please contact the school if you would like to discuss any of the information contained in this booklet, or any other matters of concern you may have about the school.
